English National Ballet brings world-class classical ballet to the widest possible audience – delighting them with the traditional and inspiring them with the new. ENB aspires to be the United Kingdom’s most exciting and creative ballet company.
Why they asked for support
Like many Arts organisations, ENB is dependent on fundraised income to support the breadth and depth of its work. The team – Raiser’s Edge users – realised their database installation needed some attention, as it was increasingly causing them frustration and was seen as more of a hindrance than a help. Purple Vision were approached to help them improve their use of the tool.
What we did
We undertook a full review of the system and how it was configured. We identified several ways in which the organisation could improve processes and functionality, as well as signposting issues which they would need to face in the future – such as customisations – and recommended a comprehensive training plan.
How the client benefited
Our training plans are built bespoke to user requirements and to support an organisations strategic objectives as well as user adoption challenges. The plan we implemented for ENB was based on our discovery discussions with them. It covered everything from small user issues and niggles to bigger picture issues such as how certain features and functionality was being used and which would have a significant business impact.
Our approach is to break the training down into several bite-size sessions, covering a functional area. This allows teams to understand each issue and element separately and then to accommodate the learning more efficiently into their day to day jobs. The training covered everything from events, membership, coding and queries to gifts.
As a result, the team are now able to properly use all the features and functions in the Raiser’s Edge tool to best advantage. The training included tips, tricks and shortcuts learnt from the ‘front line’ in different roles and which mean ENB will be able to learn from our on-the-job practical experience as well as our technical and theoretical experience.
